Join Our 12-Week CSA Program
Our Summer 2022 Vegetable shares are now open! Thank you for the support and see you at the farm soon.
Our CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture) is a partnership between you and Stone Acres Farm. We take pride in offering the delicious, fresh produce we grow to our community. All of our crops are grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. We take great care to keep the ecosystem which supports the farm healthy and balanced, promoting biodiversity and focusing on soil health as the bedrock of our farming success. Our 200+ varieties of produce include many heirlooms, and no GMOs. We grow things that taste great, because healthy soil provides delicious crops, and because we grow varieties that have been saved and bred for flavor rather than shelf life.
Why is a CSA Important to a small farm?
CSA members help us grow the way that we believe in. When you pre-purchase your 'share of the harvest' and become a CSA member, you provide us with a stable financial foundation in our efforts to grow food with a philosophy that promotes biodiversity, health and community. Early season income from CSA memberships is critically important to help pay for the supplies and work it takes to grow our crops during the winter months.
Purchasing your share as a gift? Great idea! Please include the recipients name and email address in the notes section at check out and they will cherish the gift that keeps on giving all summer long.
There is more than one benefit to being a CSA member!
Members will benefit from member-only sales and events. This could include farm tours, cooking classes and demonstrations in collaboration with the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center. In addition, pick-your-own crops will be available through much of the season for members only. Peas, green beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and more! Get out in the fields, connect with the farm, and pay less for your produce.
What is a share and how does it work?
CSA members will have the power to choose what goes into their weekly share. You'll have access to the full produce offerings of our farmstand throughout the season. We'll have it stocked with plenty for everybody!
Pickup times will be more flexible. Any member may come during our normal farmstand hours. This means you have several days a week in which you can pick up your farm share and are not tied to one specific day each week.
Share sizes will be more flexible, allowing more access to farm fresh produce. You can sign up for weekly farmstand allowances (while available) of $10, $20, $30, $40, $60 or $100 over the course of the 12 week season (June through August). For example, if you purchase the $30/ week share you will have a $30 allowance that you can use to shop in the stand. Purchase several lbs of tomatoes, two zucchinis, carrots and a bag of greens, all totaling $30 for the week.
Members will benefit from member-only sales and events. This could include farm tours, cooking classes, demonstrations and flower design workshops in collaboration with the Yellow Farmhouse Education Center.
In addition, pick-your-own crops will be available through much of the season for members only. Peas, green beans, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and more! Get out in the fields, connect with the farm, and pay less for your produce.
